Creating Camelot
Production

In 1994, Warner Bros., one of the world's most distinguished movie studios, created a new division, committed to making unique and exciting animated feature films. Warner Bros. Feature Animation has been busy ever since, attracting some of the world's most talented artists, writers and technical staff to a wide variety of projects.

Production But Warner Bros.' animation legacy didn't begin in the 1990s. In fact, by the time the studio opened its Feature Animation division, it had already earned a worldwide reputation for unmatched animation entertainment for nearly 60 years.

Warner Bros. is the first studio to have won an Academy Award for an animated short -- "Knighty Knight Bugs" in 1958 -- and boasts two other Oscar nominations for animation art. The Looney Tunes, created by such legendary talent as Chuck Jones, Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, Friz Freleng, and Robert McKimson, have been enjoyed on television and film around the world since 1938, and have set the standard for timeless, irreverent animated humor that appeals to all age levels.

More recently the studio has built on its animation foundations with such hit television series as "Batman: The Animated Series," "Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs" and "Steven Spielberg Presents Tiny Toon Adventures," all of which have received two or more Emmy Awards for their quality and entertainment value.

ProductionIn 1996, Warner Bros. Feature Animation released its debut effort, "Space Jam." Teaming Michael Jordan with Warner Bros.' beloved Looney Tunes set a new standard in combining live action and animation. The resulting movie grossed more than $220 million in movie theaters worldwide. The home video for "Space Jam" has already sold over 8.5 million units in the U.S. alone.

And now Warner Bros. Feature Animation is completing production on Quest for Camelot, its first full-length, fully-animated feature, scheduled for release in the summer of 1998.

This thrilling adventure, set in a magical world, intertwines a timeless legend and rollicking contemporary humor. Its sweeping vistas and mysterious forests, teeming with mythical creatures, have been created by some of the world's most distinguished animation artists. The actors providing character voices include (in alphabetical order) PIERCE BROSNAN, GABRIEL BYRNE, ANDREA CORR, CARY ELWES, SIR JOHN GIELGUD, JESSALYN GILSIG, ERIC IDLE, GARY OLDMAN, BRONSON PINCHOT, DON RICKLES, JANE SEYMOUR, BRYAN WHITE and JALEEL WHITE

ProductionFourteen-time Grammy-winner DAVID FOSTER and Academy Award-winner (with three additional nominations) CAROLE BAYER SAGER have created songs for "Quest for Camelot," and Academy Award-nominated composer PATRICK DOYLE (Kenneth Branagh's "Hamlet") is writing the musical score.

Quest for Camelot has a screenplay by KIRK DE MICCO and WILLIAM SCHIFRIN from a story by JACQUELINE FEATHER and DAVID SEIDLER, based on a novel by VERA CHAPMAN called The King's Damosel. The film is directed by FREDERIK DU CHAU and produced by DALISA COOPER COHEN. Warner Bros. will distribute Quest for Camelot worldwide.
